The Maintenance Division of Public Works is primarily responsible for the maintenance and operations of the County’s buildings and grounds to include but not limited to general housekeeping, electrical, mechanical, plumbing work and lawn care maintenance. Some of these services are contracted to companies specializing in these areas if needed.
Fleet Management - This department is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all County vehicles.
County Facilities - This department provides maintenance services to the following locations: Surry Government Center, Circuit Courthouse, Animal Pound, Parks & Recreation Department, Office On Youth Building, Surry Health Department, Head Start Facility, Pineview and Goodson Path Collection Sites and the Surry and Claremont Libraries.
NOTICE TO RESIDENTS: Colonial Pipeline passes through Surry County delivering natural gas to our region. Property owners along the pipeline may occassionally observe pipeline company contractors trimming or cutting the trees on the pipeline right-of-way.
