Surry County Parks and Recreation
The Surry County Parks and Recreation Center offers a variety of recreational, social and cultural activities. Our mission is to promote, advocate and provide diversified, safe and affordable programs and activities for all citizens. The Parks and Recreation Commission consists of 15 members, three from each district of the county, whose members are appointed by a liaison between the citizens and the Board of Supervisors. The Surry County Parks and Recreation center offers a year-round program of activities for children, young adults and senior citizens of Surry County area.

The Parks and Recreation Department offer sport programs as well as organized leagues for adult softball, youth basketball, cheerleading, youth and adult soccer, A.A.U. Track & Field, karate, kickboxing, zumba, ballet, tumbling, and tap. Surry County Parks and Recreation offers special annual events such as bus trips, July 4th entertainment and summer camp programs, hosting outdoor concerts and movies, Nottoway Pow-Pow and the African American Family Reunion Weekend.
The Recreation Division offers a summer enrichment program, outdoor camps and entertainmentdesigned especially for children ages 6-15 throughout Surry County. Surry Senior Citizens meet daily at the Surry Community Center where they are involved in activities such as arts and crafts, exercise programs, table games and socialization. A lunch program and transportation is also provided.
To register for an activity, individuals may obtain registration forms from the Surry County Community Center or download registration forms via the links provided below. Once completed, registration forms may be returned in person, by fax, email or by mail. REGISTRATION IS OFFICIAL UPON RECEIPT OF PAYMENT. Participants are accepted on a first come-first served basis.
Facilities and Park:
The Surry County Community Center, including the grounds and picnic area, is available to the public as a site for meetings, social events, weddings, family reunions and sporting events. Contact Surry County Parks and Recreation to reserve a date for your event and to obtain an application as well as pricing information for the use of the facility and/or grounds.
