 Due to the recent effects of Hurricane Irene, Surry County Emergency Services has ordered limited water and ice supplies for distribution to county residents.  Residents of Surry, Dendron and Claremont are requested to continue to use the current public water supply.

 A limited supply of ice is available at the five distribution locations:

Mt. Nebo Baptist Church

Jerusalem Baptist Church

Surry Government Center

Claremont Town Hall

Dendron Fire Department

 As an effort to provide priority services for Surry County residents, please have proof of residency available, for example a driver’s license.  

 Additional supplies of ice and water have been requested and residents will be informed of the distribution once supplies are secured and in place.
