Surry County School Division and all schools met Federal Accreditation Requirements for the 2007-2008 academic  year.  All schools made State Accreditation for the 2008-2009 school year.
 

Vision Statement

Surry County Public Schools’ vision is “to provide a safe, healthy learning environment that prepares all students to be competitive and productive citizens in a highly technical and global society.”

Surry County Public Schools’ Goal

Our goal is to teach every child, every day, successfully.  In order to accomplish this goal we must provide a safe learning environment that fosters academic excellence.  We strive to meet state and federal accreditation benchmarks.  For 2007-2008 we were one of 23 school divisions within the Commonwealth of Virginia that met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).

Surry Academy for Global Education (SAGE)

Surry County Public Schools, Thomas Nelson Community College and John Tyler Community College have entered into a partnership to offer a dual enrollment program in Surry County for students in grades 9 and 10.  This program is called Surry Academy for Global Education.
