April is "Surry County Clean-Up Month"

The Board of Supervisors had designated April, 2019 as Surry County Clean-up Month.  Citizens are asked to clean up, spruce up, and beautify their properties and the roadsides of the county during the month.  In an effort to assist, the Solid Waste and Recycling staff will provide special refuse collection containers at the following locations and times for citizens to dispose of appliance, furniture, yard debris, and scrap building materials.

April 13th - 9:00 am to 1:00 pm    Bacon's Castle Grocery (Route 10 and Route 617), Old L.P. Jackson School Site, Goodson Path Collection Site, and Mantura Road Collection Site

April 27th - 9:00 am to 1:00 pm    Claremont Fire Station (28 Mystic Avenue), Pineview Collection Site, Claremont Beach (Villa Road), and Goodson Path Collection Site.

In conjunction with Clean-Up Month, the Surry County Economic Development Office encourages citizens and civic groups to consider adopting a highway during April.  For more information, access the link to the VDOT website provided.
