Staff in the Registrar's Office can verify your registration or assist you in registering. Citizens may contact the office via the online contact us form or by calling 757-294-5213 for assistance.
Citizens may call the Registrar's Office at 757-294-5213 and staff will mail an application to you; or you may visit our office at 45 School Street in Surry, Virginia, to fill out an application in person. An application for an absentee ballot can also be downloaded directly from the State Board of Elections website. Persons who are registered in Surry County may vote by absentee ballot if they have a disability or illness, expect to be away on business, on vacation, attending college, employed outside the United States, or in the military.
The polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
