Animal Control

Surry County Animal Control is responsible for the public safety and health of the County as it pertains to the control of unsupervised domestic animals.

Building Inspections

The Building Official's Office assures that all buildings constructed in the County conform to safety and health requirements as mandated by the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code.

Combined Court Services

The Surry Combined Court consists of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and the General District Court. The office is under the direction of the Supreme Court of Virginia.

Cooperative Extension

The Surry County Office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is your local connection to Virginia's land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University.

County Administration

The County Administrator is the chief officer of the County responsible for the daily operations of the County government.

Emergency Services

The Surry County Office of Emergency Services provides management, coordination, training, and response to small or large emergencies that impact the citizens of the County.

Finance & Information Technology

The Department of Finance and Information Technology provides financial and computer support services to all County operations and is responsible for the maintenance and dissemination of reliable and accurate financial data.

Parks & Recreation

The Surry County Parks and Recreation Center offers a variety of recreational, social and cultural activities. Our mission is to promote, advocate and provide diversified, safe and affordable programs and activities for all citizens.

Planning & Community Development

The Planning Department provides staff support to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors, including reviewing and providing recommendations on all land use matters presented to the Commission and Board.

Public Works

Public Works consists of 3 divisions that are responsible for the maintenance of buildings, grounds, county vehicles, trash and recycling.

Social Services

It is the goal of Surry Social Services to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Surry County who are in need by providing an array of services while building for the future of our community.

Youth & Family Resources

The mission of the Surry County Office on Youth is to enhance the quality of life for Surry County youth and families by effectively addressing youth concerns, assessing needs for services, increasing community collaboration and assistance in the establishment of effective programs for positive youth development.
